Leblon London, jetted into the global fashion arena with its first official London Fashion Week runway at London’s iconic Lansdowne Club, Mayfair.
As a Brazilian-born, London- based fashion designer, Yane Ferreira and founder of Leblon London seamlessly merged clean, contemporary British cool with Brazilian opulence and flair.
Titled ‘Transatlantic’ the collection began its journey in the UK wrapped up in warm tweed dresses, oversized bomber jacket, maxi skirt, playsuit and trouser suit in a bold oversized black and white tartan print. With the destination in mind, the tweeds are sprinkled with sequins to give that Brazilian pazzazz.
And why not bring that pazzazz to the UK winter races?
Although looking traditionally British, the colour choice of striking black and white was inspired by the distinctive patterned promenades of Copacabana and Leblon beaches.
Faux fur is part of the collection, and appears in the new line of knitwear as well as a variety of accessories from fake fur chokers to A-Line scarves.
These demure looking maxi and midi dresses bare a checky open back…
…so don’t forget to wear Leblon’s oversized tweed bomber jacket or one of the chic black coats when attending an outdoor race meeting.
Next stop were the crochet inspired prints in ecru and brown. Crochet is a common artistry in Brazil and the trompe l’oeil effect of the print really tricked the eye into believing the outfits were made of this textured yarn.
Shades of golden greens evoke sunshine filtering through palm trees lining Copacabana beach. Zesty yellow-green shimmers on a silky satin dress and maxi skirt.
Faux fur is a novel trim on the Leblon London mesh jewellery.
Darker tones of olive green glisten on a taffeta skirt paired with a faux fur bronze green jumper providing warmth and texture. The leafy khaki green is the latest colour to grace Leblon’s Alice shirt dress.
Sequins reappear for fun eveningwear, this time in Leblon’s interpretation of a snake print. Colours of pink, black and white are a nod to nature, where animal and floral merge.
The Agnes playsuit, with Leblon’s signature voluminous puff sleeves, sparkles in this luxurious pattern.
