Suzanne Gill Launches her Debut Clothing Line, Vine and Moor, at York Fashion Week

Not a stranger to racing fashion, Suzanne Gill started a successful millinery business 14 years ago.

Now she has decided to branch out into the clothing industry to fill the gap in the market for beautiful tailored pieces that uplift the soul of every woman regardless of their age, size and ethnicity.

Inspiration: Vintage french fashion.

Fabric: 100% merino wool sourced from Yorkshire mill Hainsworth in their Vivid Hues Melton colour collection. Fully lined in a polka dot print in viscose twill.

Colour palette: Shades of cobalt blue, scarlet red, jade and aubergine, with softer hues of light navy, pink and amethyst.

Vine and Moor’s customers are not restricted to this colour palette and can choose any colour available from Hainsworth’s Vivid Hues Melton colours. As this is Hainsworth’s most fashion forward collection each year it is updated with a number of the most important colour trends of the season.

The 1950s dress in bright blue is trimmed with contrasting black cuffs and collar of cotton velvet. A wide black waistband in velvet gives the illusion of a slimmer waist. Lining is in a pretty light blue polka dot print.

The Scallop Neck Jacket in scarlet is also 1950s inspired. Lined in a navy polka dot print. Paired at the fashion show with the 1950s full skirt and also with wide leg turn up trousers.

Contrast Waist dress in light soft navy is given a pop of colour with jade cuffs and waistband.

Two Tone coat is a button free straight cut style with a Peter Pan collar. Its simplicity allows the two tone colours of navy and jade to be the star.

The Bow dress is a semi fitted straight cut style with a large statement bow on one shoulder and contrasting cuffs on three-quarter length sleeves. In soft navy with contrasting pink. The Flare coatin pink can be worn with the bow dress. Featuring a banded collar with bell sleeves. Buttonless except one button on the collar.
Contrast Collar Jacket semi fitted in soft navy. The early 1960s style has an asymmetrical front with large pink fabric buttons. The boat neckline collar, cuffs and back vent inserts are also in contrasting pink. Paired with wide leg turn-up trousers.

The Edge To Edge Coat is in a heavier wool mix of 80% merino and 20% nylon. Collarless and straight cut, the coat comes in a variety of stripe widths in a colour combination of amethyst, jade, truffle and white. Paired at the show with amethyst wide trousers.
