Designers from Around the World at Emerge SS24 in London Fashion Week

Oxford Fashion Studio launched collections by  designers from around the world at Emerge SS24 during London Fashion Week.

Creativity, craftsmanship and cultural dynamism permeated throughout the collections with each one channelling the designer’s unique experiences. 

Renee Cafaro Atelier

The Love Parade Collection | USA

Renee Cafaro Atelier creates haute couture exclusively for bigger bodies. Cafaro strives to bring luxury and opulence to plus size clients while championing ethical, local and fair wage business practices.

Their designs have been seen on ITV’s Alison Hammond, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, BAFTAs’ red carpet, CBS Good Morning America, iHeartRadio Breakfast Club, Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, and the 2023 Oscars.

The Love Parade Collection SS24 is Carnaby Street meets Coachella. A vibrant collection that combines the mod silhouettes of the swinging 1960s with the frivolity, fringe and neon colours of modern festival wear.

Ally Brenner Designs

Fierce Opulence | Australia

Ally Brenner Designs (ABD) is an Australian womenswear designer currently trading in Canberra ACT, Australia. The label launched the Fierce Opulence collection in London, a couture collection that features ten full body looks that were meticulously designed and hand crafted in ACT Australia.

Each is one-of-a-kind and designed for the wearer to feel empowered, confident, and strong. The key embellishments in this collection have been applied through beading and embroidery to create an opulent feminine feel.

Vino Supraja

Purisai | India

Vino Supraja is a sustainable womenswear fashion brand. The label partners with skilled workers ensuring good working conditions and a living wage, eschewing mass production and opposing extortive practices.

The brand handlooms its textiles and is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard. The label recycles all of its unused materials.

The Purisai collection draws inspiration from the designer’s childhood: “Growing up, I lived just 10km away from Purisai village where the folk art of Therukoothu thrives to this day. This is the art form of Vino’s home, and this collection is Vino’s dedication to the art of Therukoothu, for making my childhood colourful,” says Vino Supraja.

BERTH

Never Too Old To Play | Hong Kong

Fashion designer Afa Tsang founded Berth in Hong Kong. The label is a mix of modern and vintage style, colour blocking, 1920s art deco and Le Garçonne.

Afa’s signature design style is using geometric shapes and colour blocking to create sculpted yet modern pieces. Core pieces feature flat chest loose-fit dresses with drop waist.

The brand creates its own fabric prints and the collections make use of tapestry, quilted fabric and their own monogram prints all inspired by vintage style.

Nuno Abelho

Raíz | Portugal

Nuno Abelho founded his women and menswear brand in Portugal in 2008. Raíz, meaning Root, is a collection that builds upon the brand’s foundations.

Cuts and silhouettes that predominate in past collections were updated to cleaner and more refined styles. Strong colours, silk jacquards and classic silhouettes with a romantic appeal define the mood for the Spring Summer 2024 season.
