‘Tis the season to dress up!!
And what better way than to wear one of Wajahat Mirza’s black and gold evening dresses for those Christmas cocktail parties or black-tie events.
His newest collection Mystique Romance is inspired by the juxtaposition of black and gold, where black signifies a fascinating aura of mystery and gold signifies the feeling of excitement associated with love.
The above embellished strapless mini party dress is stunning by itself, but when paired with the cloak style coat the whole outfit becomes a strong style statement.
Necklines vary from cheekily plunging to the waist to raising high up to the neck, and so catering for all tastes.
Hemlines vary too, from the mini and knee length cocktail style to the floor length evening gown.
Bringing both these lengths together is the above black asymmetric dress with a short hemline at the front which cascades to the floor at the back.
Bustier bodices on dresses and tops are heavily embellished. The tops paired with wide flowing palazzo pants (image above left) and slinky long velvet skirt (image below right)
Fabrics used are silk, Georgette, crepes and velvet along with fabric pleating.
He uses a combination of intricate hand embroidery embellishments like pearls, beads and Swarovski crystals.
Mirza also creates simple classic chic dresses with just a touch of glamorous gold for those more modest but sophisticated black-tie events.
The collection was shown during London Fashion Week at Fashion London UK runway show held in the Royal Horseguards London Hotel.
