ClipperFire Art is hosting a photo event and competition to raise funds for The Racehorse Sanctuary during May, June and July 2021.
During lockdown, many charities suffered a lack of funding when they were forced to close doors and shut down events. With restrictions now lifting, charities face the daunting task of trying to make up the shortfall caused by the pandemic.
ClipperFire Art has partnered with equine businesses to help raise money to provide some funding relief for The Racehorse Sanctuary based in Pulborough, West Sussex. The Racehorse Sanctuary provides a vital lifeline for thoroughbred horses whose previous owners were unable to cope with the physical and emotional needs of the horses, and for ex-racehorses who face an uncertain future when their careers have ended.
The event is called “Lockdown Knockout” to celebrate the end of lockdown restrictions. For a £99.00 donation fee, which will go to The Racehorse Sanctuary in its entirety, Tracey Beer, the photographer behind ClipperFire Art will do a photo shoot of horse owners and their horses in fancy dress. 12 Horse owners will be asked to choose one thing they missed most during lockdown (for example: Valentine’s Day, going to the beach, Halloween etc.) and dress up in fancy dress to suit their theme, the more creative and over-the-top, the better. Participants will receive a complimentary 120-piece jigsaw puzzle of one of their images for signing up to the event, and will also have the option to purchase stunning Birchwood wall art of their images, with a complimentary framed 8”x6” print or A4 soft cover photo book if their wall art purchases are above a set amount. 10% of any wall art sales will be donated to The Racehorse Sanctuary as well. When all photo shoots have been completed, one image from each session will then go into a bracket styled competition to choose the best fancy dress.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place include:
- A brand new riding top, leggings and a water bottle from Equigems
- Shampoo, liquid soap and tack cleaner from Aqueos
- A brand new saddle pad and gift voucher from Horse Tack Hampshire
- Gift vouchers for bespoke items from CK Leatherworks
