WHAT A DAY! Ladies’ Day at the Investec Derby Festival on Friday 1st June 2018 saw the fashionistas and fashionfellas out in force. Derby Festival 2018: Ladies’ Day Review.

Eclipse Magazine’s Social Editor Charlotte Greig was out and about with our photographer Rachel Groom to admire their outfits and find out more…

To view our raceday pictures on Instagram search #EMSocial.

Made in Chelsea stars Binky Felstead, Toff Georgia (and her mum) and Vogue Williams all looking stunning and all stopped to have a quick chat.

Michel Roux the chef takes a quick breath of fresh air.

Francesca Cumani and Ed Chamberlain – the golden couple of ITV racing.

Francesca Cumani, daughter of trainer Luca, looked absolutely fabulous styled by Sarah-Kate Byrne in vintage Hardy Amies with a hat by LaylaLeigh Millinery. Francesca has recently had her first winner as a breeder and was buzzing about the achievement. Cool Exhibit won at Nottingham and is homebred out of the mare Frigid (who clearly wasn’t!). Congratulations Francesca!

Baroness Fairhead with the Countess of Derby and Lady Watt all looking resplendent in their outfits. These regal ladies were most charming.

Love Island 2016 and TOWIE sleb Nathan Massey looking sharp.

Nathan told us how he and Tommy Mallett used to be builders together before both hit the big time on separate shows. Nathan is completely love-struck with his son Freddie-George De La Hoyde who was born in December of last year. He is working on a new range of clothing for fathers and sons who want to look stylish in tandem, which will be out later this year.

TOWIE stars out in force!

Carey Buckler and Yvette Jelfs both wearing hats made by Yvette.

Yvette’s hats and headpieces are frequently seen at Royal Ascot and her clients include princesses to pop stars. You may have also caught her fashion commentary for the BBC at Royal Ascot and Goodwood. www.YvetteJelfs.com

Carey Buckler is Cheltenham & the South West Regional Head of Partnerships for The Jockey Club.

Georgie Godfrey and Mills Swift – lovely ladies in Ghost and Rixo.

Chloe Joyce looking very stylish in a bespoke outfit.

Angela Manton-Matthews leading daughter Jessica Rae and Abigail Scott (singer and songwriter) and April Tucker.

We were lucky we bumped in to Jessica early on in the day. As a Style Ambassador for Epsom Racecourse, as well as running her own successful millinery and styling business in Ewell, Jessica was in great demand. She told Eclipse that she had probably made around 200 hats for the Derby Festival. She styles the lovely Hayley Moore (who we saw later in the day) amongst her many clientele. We met Jessica last year at Sandown and look forward to bumping into her again and snapping her on-point style. Check out Jessica’s studio in Ewell – www.jessicaraemillinery.co.uk

Netty aand Mandy looking very stylish in Jaeger and Warehouse dresses.

Magali O’Kelly looking fabulous in Belgium brand and hat by Laura Cathcart.

Magali must attract our attention as it is the second time we have snapped this stylish lady! Our attention was immediately drawn to the comfy looking trainers she was working. We certainly saw hundreds of racegoers with their heels off by the end of day two! Good thinking Magali.

Lesley Smith looking striking in bright red Zara.

Helen Mobley and her husband Alan with bloodstock agent Luke Lillingston who sourced their Ascot winner Irony.

What a charming couple, and we are hoping to see them at Goodwood enjoying their picnic.

Deborah Graham looking striking in a simple colour combination of navy and coral.

Two of the unsung heroes working hard on the day – Steve Rowland and Kaine Hilden.

Lucy Clarke and Ysanne White looking great and excited as their horse Native Fighter was running today.

Lucy is a local lady very much involved in the Epsom racing community, boxing the horses to the races for Lee Carter amongst many. She also has her own bespoke livery yard in Headley.

Mary Stapleton-Foley and Carol Kennelly looking absolutely gorgeous in dresses by Tina Griffin.

We were just taking a breather when we spotted these outfits and we were off again! Beautiful dresses set off wonderfully by the stunning hats. We knew these ladies were going to get involved in the Best Dressed competition. The hats were by Carol’s fair hand, check out her designs at www.carolkennellymillinery.com.

Jonno Spence very kindly stopping for a quick picture on a very busy day! Good luck with Elysium Dream when she runs at Sandown.

Maria Cheslin looking beautiful in blue and white. A frequent racegoer, Maria is always stylishly dressed and has won numerous Best Dressed competitions including at Chester’s May Festival 2017.

Rachel Oates – Investec, she’s wearing zebras!!

We loved Rachel’s dress, very appropriately patterned for the sponsors of the Derby Festival! We saw her the following day in an equally impressive outfit and it was no surprise to see the ITV crew lasso her in for an interview.

The wonderful Jo Good and Emma Saunders of BBC Radio London. What talented ladies! Catch our interview with them here… https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06784c0 (forward to 1.22.36 hours/mins).

What a great bunch of ladies! Jo was genuinely pleased when Rachel told her how much her family enjoyed listening to her. We laughed about the challenge of trying to hide reading glasses behind sunglasses which Jo had camouflaged well. Jo was working the animal print and pulled it off beautifully.

Emma, well what a job she has got! She was at The Oaks on Friday and then was off to Wembley to hold the fort there for the BBC on the football. She’s off to Russia for the World Cup. We wish you every success and keep up the good work!

Rachel Hanson @thecreativelifeofrachel the bride-to-be looking fabulous with @lady_ginious, @emilydouthwaite @faye_soldiosa @xk1986_sw

Rachel is getting married on 1st August and is based in Epsom. Despite her upcoming nuptials Rachel made all the hats for the fillies out for the hen do. See http://www.rachelhansonmillinery.co.uk

Margaret Leeson looking very sparkly.

Hayley Moore looking lovely in pastel pink.

Great to chat to At The Races TV presenter Hayley and we revisited her breaking the internet when she stopped a loose horse in a silk skirt (eat your heart out Kim Kardashian!). As the daughter of racing trainer Gary Moore, and sister to riders Ryan, Jamie and Josh, at least Hayley knew what she was doing!

Hayley is styled by Jessica Rae who we caught up with earlier in the day and although we didn’t speak to her on the Saturday she had another great outfit on from Jessica.

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins and Mark Heyes, a Scottish fashion presenter, both looking gorgeous.

Former Made In Chelsea star Frankie Gaff gave us a quick pose – thanks Frankie!

Steph and Erin Potts who is looking beautiful in New Look – proving you can look stylish on a budget!

The look of love! Kimberley Jump with Warren Diogo. What a handsome couple! Kim is wearing a Quiz dress and Pepe Castell shoes.
