Win a Luxury Silk Tie: This year New & Lingwood – one of London’s longest established and most respected English gentleman’s outfitters – embarked on a five-year partnership with Goodwood as the Official Style Partner the Qatar Goodwood Festival, affectionately referred to as ‘Glorious Goodwood’.
To celebrate, New & Lingwood produced a Winner’s Sheet – using the same exclusive fuchsia and turquoise silk jacquard design as the dressing gown featured in the BBC’s The Night Manager – which was presented to the winning horse of The New & Lingwood Handicap Stakes on Tuesday 1st August.
For over 150 years, New & Lingwood has been dressing the discerning gentlemen of Great Britain in immaculately fitted shirts, luxury silk dressing gowns and exquisite men’s tailoring which is often seen on racegoers attending the best-dressed meetings from Ascot to Cheltenham.
Over the past 100 years, the dress code at Goodwood has become synonymous with the linen suit for men. While the luxury dressing gown may not be an obvious partner for a linen suit, one of New & Lingwood’s luxury silk ties certainly should be!
Carolyn Springett, New & Lingwood’s CEO, said: “We are very excited to partner with such a well-established name in both British horseracing and motoring and are looking forward to injecting some modern styles, incredible colours and the finest materials into the races – particularly onto the winning horse’s sheet!”
In addition to sponsoring races during the five-year partnership, New & Lingwood will also stock a selection of classic suits and accessories at Goodwood The Kennels Shop.
Lord March, Chairman of Goodwood Racecourse, said: “We are excited to welcome New & Lingwood to Goodwood, as their collections are a perfect fit for the Qatar Goodwood Festival. As well as giving our members the opportunity to purchase New & Lingwood products from our Kennels Shop throughout the partnership, we particularly look forward to the New & Lingwood team coming to the Estate regularly to fit our members on-site.”

Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.
She absolutely loves her job (how many people can say that?!) and is truly grateful to all supporters of and contributors to Eclipse Magazine.
If you are reading this she would like to say THANK YOU! (And please spread the word about Eclipse…!!)
