Sara Cox is ambassador for 2016 British Champions Series

BBC Radio 2 presenter and TV broadcaster, Sara Cox has been announced as an official ambassador for the 2016 QIPCO British Champions Series.

The Series, which includes 35 races across the British Flat racing calendar, will see Sara take part in a number of activities throughout the summer and hit the decks to perform an exclusive DJ set at both the opening weekend, the QIPCO Guineas Festival on Saturday 30th April at Newmarket Racecourse and at the Series’ finale and the UK’s richest raceday, QIPCO British Champions Day on 15th October 2016 at Ascot Racecourse.

Having been riding since the age of six, Sara previously rode out on the gallops for the late trainer John Hills in Lambourn and has also taken part in two charity races at Goodwood in 2011 and 2012. She now currently exercises a retired racehorse in Epsom on a regular basis.

Sara commented: “As a horseracing fan and rider, I’m thrilled to be a part of the 2016 QIPCO British Champions Series. I love a day out at the races and I am really excited about being involved across the summer and seeing some of the best racing and some of the best horses compete.

“I had an absolute ball performing at Champions Day in 2014, and it will be great to be kicking off the Series at Newmarket after the QIPCO 2,000 Guineas, before heading back to Ascot for QIPCO British Champions Day in October.”
