All-Weather Championships Finals Day: The third All-Weather Championships series has been running from Thursday 29th October 2015 and culminates with All-Weather Championships Finals Day on Good Friday, 25th March 2016 at Lingfield Park.
The seven races on All-Weather Championships Finals Day are worth a total of £1.1 million.
Horses have qualified for one of the races on Finals Day by racing three times on an All-Weather surface in Britain, France or Ireland. Horses needed to be high enough rated to run in one of the seven Finals, each worth at least £150,000, or they made sure of participation by winning a Fast-Track Qualifier, which grants free and guaranteed entry.
The other way to qualify for one of the Finals was to run three times during the Championship period, including twice on a designated All-Weather surface in Great Britain, Ireland or France and at least once on dirt at Meydan, Dubai.
The categories this season are: 3-Y-O Sprint, 3-Y-O Mile, Sprint, Mile, Fillies’ & Mares’, Marathon and Middle Distance. There have been four Fast-Track Qualifiers for each race category.
£10,000 will go to each of the All-Weather Champions, based on the number of winners, at the end of All-Weather Championships season:
- Champion All-Weather Jockey
- Champion All-Weather Trainer
- Champion All-Weather Owner
- Champion All-Weather Sire
- Winning-Most All-Weather Horse
- Champion Tipster
In addition to the awards above, the horse who wins the most prize money during the period will become the ‘All-Weather Horse of the Year’.
For the third year, Arena Racing Company (ARC) is pleased to be supporting the Lambourn Open Day with a £10,000 donation. Also for the third year, ARC is giving each lad or lass that leads up a horse and each travelling lad and lass £100 as a goodwill gesture for working on Good Friday.
Alicia Lowes will sing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, the song of official All-Weather Championships charity partner Walking The Courses, before racing and there will a bucket collection on gates when racegoers are leaving the course.

Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.
She absolutely loves her job (how many people can say that?!) and is truly grateful to all supporters of and contributors to Eclipse Magazine.
If you are reading this she would like to say THANK YOU! (And please spread the word about Eclipse…!!)
