OHMME is a socially friendly, environmentally friendly and conscious company that is disrupting the male sportswear industry, created by Louis d’Origny and Jonty Hikmet who spotted a gap in the market for affordable and good quality men’s yoga clothing.
Both Louis and Jonty regularly practiced yoga but couldn’t find clothing they wanted to wear. Their vision was to create an eco-friendly line of clothing that enabled total freedom of movement for yoga practice and other leisure activities. They saw all the offerings available to women and wondered why guys didn’t have the same range of choice, so they set about creating OHMME.
After much deliberation on fabric sustainability, factory choice and the design of the range, they wanted to create a brand that was covetable, totally unique, and environmentally friendly.
OHMME was born under the brief of style, movement and comfort.
“Our fabrics are made with your body, and the planet, in mind. I took a lot of time researching the most sustainable ways of producing garments and really investigating sustainable fabrics, which are, for the majority, made from recycled polyester. This is much better for the environment, in terms of the reduced waste and the recycling of materials that already exist. Our fabrics feel cool, are sweat wicking and breathable, so they have all the benefits of great sportswear, with the bonuses of them being recycled and having a reduced environmental impact,” explains Louis.
The range includes hero products such as the dharma pants (£55), which are great for yoga, as they are perfectly fitted, totally flexible and because they are breathable there are no sweat patches. They are also stylish enough to wear on a daily basis. The ultimate underwear was crafted in the Zhu Boxer (£20) which has a horizontal fly, made from bamboo fabric, which naturally contains an antimicrobial bio-agent, is more hygienic and more environmentally friendly that cotton. And so bamboo is naturally odour resistant. Try them and you’ll never want to wear any other underwear!
OHMME’s Cobra yoga T-shirt (£36) is fitted at the waist so it does not move when during your yoga practice, Made of our fast-drying fabric, this T-shirt is ideal for the studio, indoor, hitting the gym or for running outdoors. The T-shirt is sturdy, silky, elastic and feels good to the touch, the breathabiblity of the fabric means sweat simply evaporates through the garment, and much like the Dharma Pants will not wrinkle or lose shape.
OHMME will soon be launching a limited edition street wear collection, which is for the smart and stylish man who wants to be comfortable in the office but is also conscious of the environmental impact of clothing production.

Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.
