With a competitive seven-race card, live music, elegant picnic lawns, and eclectic Champagne and cocktail bars, there’s something for everyone! The dedicated and separate family zone has a host of attractions to thrill children aged 4–15, including: fairground, Clip Clop Pony rides, inflatable obstacle course, dancing workshops, football competitions and educational workshops on subjects such as vlogging. The Group 2 Fred Cowley MBE Memorial Summer Mile is the highlight of the race card and one of the most important mile races of the season.

Families will also be able to turn their hand at learning some circus skills and have a go at the Horseplay Jumps throughout the afternoon.

PONTEFRACT – Tribute Bands Family Day
Sunday fixtures not only feature the best racing of the year at Pontefract with over £100,000 worth of Prize Money available at each meeting, but they are also the three fixtures each season dedicated to families. As well as four fantastic tribute acts performing throughout the afternoon, there will be a funfair, facepainting, circus, free sweets, activity packs and racecards for kids, pony rides, trips to the starts of races and a ‘Hunt The Golden Horseshoe’ competition!
There’s some stunning action on the track as well with the Listed Pomfret Stakes being the feature.
It’s also the 12th Go Racing in Yorkshire Summer Festival which kicks off at Ripon on Saturday 20th July and concludes with this Ponte Family Day on Sunday 28th July. With racing throughout the White Rose county all week, it’s a Festival to remember for racing enthusiasts.
