Is it ever okay to wear wellies to Ladies’ Day at the Cheltenham Festival?
GEORGIE: Of course you can wear wellies if they go with your outfit that you have chosen for Ladies’ Day and there is a wide selection of brands and styles to choose from.
Dubarry boots are great and very fashionable and some of the Spanish leather boots are ideal as they are flat and so will be comfortable for a day out at the races.
|Ladies’ Day is a great opportunity to dress up|
Ladies’ Day is a great day to get dressed up and there are some great boots on sale as alternatives to wellies if you are wearing a special outfit.
MEALLY: You will not win best dressed in pink/spotty/tartan/stripy wellies! Personally, I would not wear my wellies to Cheltenham Ladies’ Day (unless I am walking the track with my husband before racing of course!). If I am visiting owners in boxes or going into the Owners and Trainers Marquee during the day or even representing someone in the paddock, it is important to me that I look smart and tidy. Wearing wellies would definitely be more comfortable than six-inch heels all day long but my pink Hunters will be staying in the car that week. (I love Hunters with welly warmers and so does Choc!)
LIZ: No, wellies are definitely out unless you want to help muck out in the stables!
