The banners of the great houses of the QIPCO British Champions Series have been raised and the fight is set to continue this weekend with three races at the Investec Derby Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
With the final season of Game of Thrones coming to a close last week, QIPCO British Champions Series has created its very own map of Westeros, inspired by the opening sequence of the award-winning TV show.
Each guide will visit one of the 10 kingdoms involved in the QIPCO British Champions Series, before descending on King’s Landing (Ascot) for QIPCO British Champions Day on Saturday 19th October.
There is more than £20 million worth of prize money available throughout the 35 races of this year’s QIPCO British Champions Series, which showcases the finest flat racing, with the 2018 Series featuring six of the world’s top 12 races.
The second episode takes a look at the world-famous Epsom Downs Racecourse, which is home to three QIPCO British Champions Series races – the Investec Coronation Cup, the Investec Oaks and the Investec Derby.

The Investec Coronation Cup and the Investec Oaks take place on Friday, while the Investec Derby on Saturday is the most prestigious and richest Classic of the British Flat season, with prize money of £1,625,000. Aidan O’Brien bids for his seventh victory in the race, which would make him the joint leading trainer of all time in the Investec Derby.
Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.
She absolutely loves her job (how many people can say that?!) and is truly grateful to all supporters of and contributors to Eclipse Magazine.
If you are reading this she would like to say THANK YOU! (And please spread the word about Eclipse…!!)
