Glorious Goodwood Fashion
As the summer progresses, the social calendar builds towards what is widely acknowledged as the pinnacle of the season: Glorious Goodwood (Tuesday, 29 July to Saturday, 2 August, 2014).
It is a quintessentially English event with elegance and style. Over 100,000 people flock to the racecourse during the five days to enjoy this chic, relaxed and glamorous festival that celebrates the very best from the world of fashion and horseracing.
For many, world class sport is the backdrop to a fabulous day out, and Glorious Goodwood is quite unique. Widely regarded as one of the most stylish race meetings in Britain, unusually, this doesn’t come about through the enforcement of stringent dress codes. It is a more relaxed affair; top hats are replaced with Panamas, ladies wear pretty florals and hats, while guests in all enclosures sip G&Ts to the lilt of live music.
Vivien Sheriff is the official milliner to Glorious Goodwood in 2014 and the celebrated hat designer has created three bespoke limited edition panamas for ladies and gentlemen retailing at £275 available for purchase at Goodwood and Harrods.
With her headpieces favoured by British Royalty and celebrities alike, she is a superior choice when it comes to millinery.
“I am very excited to take on the role of official milliner for Glorious Goodwood and reveal our limited edition panamas,” commented Sheriff. “The designs for each have taken inspiration from the countryside surrounding the Goodwood Estate.
“Infusing a traditional shape and colour with subtly dyed detailed feathering is a signature theme across my collections and I hope to spot many of them on the racecourse during Glorious Goodwood this summer!”
