Produced in Collaboration with MyRacing.comRoyal Ascot is one of the most popular events in the flat racing calendar and indeed, the world. In fact next year, Royal Ascot will be televised for the time in the US which shows it’s growing demand.

This year, it is expected that more than 300,000 horse racing fans and punters will descend on Ascot, Berkshire from Tuesday 14th June until the prestigious final Saturday on the 18th June.

Royal Ascot is particularly famous with its connection the Her Majesty The Queen, and every year bets are taken on the colour of Her Majesty’s hat. Each year, punters and fans alike are expected to consume around 160,000 rounds of drinks with 51,000 bottles of champagne to boot! Add to that 1000kg of clotted cream and 30,000 afternoon teas and you can see why this festival stands out as one of the higher end events in the calendar.

If you’re lucky enough to attend Royal Ascot, you’ll be expected to conform to the particular dress code. Smart casual just won’t cut it at this prestigious event! Ladies, you won’t be allowed in unless you’re wearing one of your best dresses and men are expected to wear a waistcoat, tie and black smart shoes. Absolutely no sportswear, promotional clothing or fancy dress at this gig!

Whether you’ll be watching at home or lucky enough to have a ticket, there are five days of high class, grade one racing to enjoy with thirty races in total. Races to watch out for in particular are The Queen Anne Stakes, The Prince of Wales Stakes, The Gold Cup (on Thursday), The Coronation Stakes and the big finale The Diamond Jubilee Stakes on Saturday.
