HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of the Injured Jockeys Fund, was at the Aintree Crabbies Grand National meeting to host the official celebration of the Fund’s 50th Anniversary.
She talked to guests throughout the day including many beneficiaries of the IJF, both past and present, as well as presenting the prizes to connections of Guitar Peter who won the first race, The Injured Jockeys Fund 50th Anniversary 4YO Juvenile Hurdle.
The photo shows her with many familiar faces from the weighing room across the ages!
Lisa Hancock, CEO of the Injured Jockeys Fund, said: “We were delighted to have HRH The Princess Royal with us, and as always, her enthusiasm and support for the Injured Jockeys Fund is so welcome and appreciated by everyone.
“All of our guests, including many beneficiaries of the IJF, had a memorable day. Thanks to Aintree for allowing us to celebrate our landmark year at this meeting and to Channel 4 racing who have similarly offered us such incredible support.”
