A presentation to the award-winning Groundstaff at Plumpton Racecourse will take place at their next race meeting on Monday 22 March, following victory as the best Jumps Racecourse in the prestigious 2009 Neil Wyatt Groundstaff Awards.
This is the first time that Plumpton has won this Award, with judging taking place by a panel comprising representatives from across the racing industry including the National Trainers’ Federation, Professional Jockeys’ Association, and British Horseracing Authority Course Inspectors.
Claire Sheppard, Chief Executive said “We are very proud that the industry has recognised the outstanding efforts of Mark, Mac, Alan, John, Ray and all our raceday staff, whose contribution and hard work is so crucial to the success of each raceday.“
“This award also recognises the investment made in track drainage, pioneering use of frost covers, and other course improvements made by Plumpton over recent years. The Directors of Plumpton highlighted improvements to the track as the priority when they took over the course eleven years ago, and that we now regularly attract Festival calibre horses is testament to our enhanced reputation within the industry in this regard.”
Monday’s At The Races Raceday features a competitive 7 race card. Doors open at 12 noon with the first race underway at 2.30pm. Admission tickets start from only £14 for Adults, £9 for Senior Citizens, and free admission for children under 16.
