NEW EXECUTIVE Directors FOR DONCASTER AND HEREFORD RACECOURSES: Arena Racing Company (ARC) is delighted to announce to the appointment of Tim Foster as Executive Director of Doncaster Racecourse and Rebecca Davies as Executive Director and Clerk of the Course at Hereford Racecourse.
Tim joins ARC from Virgin Active where he most recently held the role of Director of Customer Experience & Central Operations. Within this role Tim was responsible for all areas of the business and implemented a world class Customer Experience Strategy throughout the Virgin Estate. Tim will take up his responsibilities from 1st June 2016.
The current Executive Director of Doncaster Racecourse Kieran Gallagher will become ARC’s Catering and Events Director. He will oversee the food and beverages served to customers across ARC racecourses, as well as the music acts booked to perform each year.
Rebecca has 17 years’ experience with The Jockey Club, most recently as Regional Racing Operations Manager for Cheltenham and the South West. Formerly Clerk of the Course at Wincanton, Rebecca will take up her post at Hereford Racecourse at the beginning of June. She will work with a small team at Hereford and receive further administrative support from teams at other ARC racecourses, including Katie Stephens, Clerk of the Course at Bath Racecourse, who will clerk the four fixtures in 2016.
ARC Director of Operations Mark Spincer said: “We are really pleased to welcome Tim and Rebecca to ARC. Rebecca’s in-depth knowledge of the sport and particular commercial and operations expertise makes her ideally placed to run Hereford Racecourse and welcome horsemen and racegoers back to the racecourse from October onwards.
“I believe Tim has the skills and qualities to lead the team at Doncaster, one of our flagship racecourses. Tim is a racing fan and has already visited many of our other racecourses in order to familiarise himself with the company. It’s also great news that Kieran Gallagher will remain a central part of the operations team and utilise his skills in overseeing our catering offering to customers across our racecourses.”
Rebecca Davies said: “It is terrific to be returning to Hereford, where I was born and bred, at what is a hugely exciting time for the racecourse. I feel privileged to be able to play a leading role in its reopening and development in the years ahead. I look forward to working with colleagues at ARC, and to building strong relationships with all stakeholders to firmly re-establish Hereford Racecourse within the industry and local community in particular.”
Tim Foster said: “I am delighted to be joining ARC. It’s a hugely exciting time to join as we build up to the St Leger Festival and I can’t wait to get started. I’m looking forward enormously to meeting the team and working together with them to not only deliver a superb program of racing but also to ensure our customers enjoy truly memorable experiences at this iconic venue.”
She absolutely loves her job (how many people can say that?!) and is truly grateful to all supporters of and contributors to Eclipse Magazine.
If you are reading this she would like to say THANK YOU! (And please spread the word about Eclipse...!!)
