London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017
Designer: Omar Mansoor
Title: Dreams of a Princess
For SS17, Omar Mansoor returns with his 12th collection at London Fashion Week featuring ready to wear dresses. He takes his inspiration from the ancient Persian symbol of the Faravahar, one of the best known symbols of ancient Iran and the ancient religion of Zoroastrian traditions.
From the start of the 20th Century, the Faravahar icon found itself in public spaces and became a known icon among all Iranians. The Faravahar is a national symbol rather than a religious icon. Nowadays, it represents both the modern and ancient Iranian State. The winged discs are usually blue in colour.
Colour palette: Navy Blue is the inspiration and colour scheme for Omar Mansoor’s Collection. ‘Navy Blue’ describes both a bright and dark shade of Azure Blue combined with the tradition in European Art and ancient Persia.
The collection features full and short length dresses made up of vintage laces, crepes and chiffons.
Our choices for a Day at the Races:
Ideal for: Newmarket Guineas or Epsom Derby – choose the chic jumpsuit in metallic blue and the on trend plisse fabric. Wear by itself or accessorise with a silver belt and add a tailored jacket.
Ideal for: Aintree Grand National – the short delicate lace dress with the fashionable handkerchief hemline and the cut out back will take the Aintree lady from a day at the races straight to her after-racing parties.
Ideal for: Royal Ascot – this cold shoulder lace dress fits all of the Royal Enclosure dress code requirements.
Ideal for: Glorious Goodwood or York Ebor – keep cool in this on trend choker-style dress with its flowing midi-length lace overlay. Will look great with a wide-brimmed hat for the garden party look.
