Ladies Day at Plumpton Racecourse this Sunday (19 September) is all set to be the most popular yet, as advance ticket sales have set a new record.

Chief Executive Claire Sheppard said “We are expecting a large turnout on Sunday as our advance booking discount offer has generated a record level of interest with over 2,000 tickets already sold, and we are sold out in all our hospitality areas.

“Our Best Dressed Lady fashion competition this year features an extra special first prize of an all inclusive 14 night holiday to Barbados courtesy of Almond Resorts. We are also running a Best Dressed Male competition for the first time with a fabulous prize from Brighton based fashion designer Gresham Blake.”

Alongside the programme of fashion competitions, live music, a shopping village and Heart’s Pamper Zone will ensure everyone has a great day out.

Plumpton has also raised its age of free entry to accompanied under 18’s, and mini fashoinistas have a Best Dressed Little Lady competition and funfair to keep them entertained.

If you’ve never been racing before, there will be a tipster talk to help pick your winners at 1.30pm, and a guide to what to look for in the parade ring at 1.45pm.

A special non-stop bus service runs from Brighton train station leaving at 12.30pm, whilst train-travellers enjoy a short walk to the course from the adjacent Plumpton train station. Free parking is also available on the racecourse.

Tickets are available for purchase on Sunday for £15. Doors open at 11.30am on Sunday with the first race underway at 2pm.
