Hats for Autumn Racing: Fashion for autumn racing can be tricky – with the end of the Flat season and start of the Jumps, combined with uncertain weather which may be hot one minute and raining the next, this is where a stylish felt hat can come into its own.

For Flat racing and sunnier days opt for brighter colours and eye-catching styles. For Jump racing and possibly worse weather an understated but well-cut style can show real quality while keeping colours more subtle. For a last-minute invitation pack a few staples in your wardrobe – simple but stylish and ultra-affordable.

Here we select some of our favourites that we have ‘Rated for Racing’:

Karen Sargeant

Karen can usually be found glued to her computer or at the stables. Having edited several national magazines she co-founded Eclipse Magazine in 2008 after realising that many of her friends were nervous about going racing due to lack of information – what to wear, how to bet etc.

She absolutely loves her job (how many people can say that?!) and is truly grateful to all supporters of and contributors to Eclipse Magazine.

If you are reading this she would like to say THANK YOU! (And please spread the word about Eclipse...!!)
