With the summer holidays just around the corner, Newton Abbot Racecourse is looking forward to welcoming bumper crowds to their first fixture of the school holiday season on Sunday 19th July.

Proving popular with families over the years, Sunday’s fixture will be the first of four fixtures to be held throughout the summer break. To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, there will be two pony races after the final race of the afternoon. The Family Enclosure will also be open for every fixture from now until the end of the summer holidays.

With a great view of the course for parents, the Family Enclosure features a number of games to keep the children entertained, including a big challenge assault course, Shoot ‘N’ Score, jousting, bouncy castle, giant Snakes and Ladders, giant Connect 4 and giant Jenga.

Patrick Masterson, Managing Director at Newton Abbot Racecourse, spoke about the holidays: “At Newton Abbot Racecourse, we always look forward to our first fixture of the summer holidays. It’s always great to see families return for this fixture every season.

“Again this season, we’ve strived to make a day at the races an affordable day out for the whole family. Our free entry offer for children aged 16 and under, combined with our free entry for students with a valid student ID / NUS card means that it’s a great value way to celebrate the start of the school break.

“We are looking forward to welcoming racegoers on the day and hope that this fixture will be the start of another fantastic holiday season here at Newton Abbot.”

Racing for Sunday 19th July starts at 13:45 with gate opening at 11:45. The last race will be at 17:05.

Tickets can be bought online until 17:00 on Saturday 18th July. There will also be tickets available at the gate on the day. Tickets are priced at £18 for the Paddock Enclosure and £12 for the Course Enclosure. Children aged 16 and under and students with a valid photographic student ID / NUS card can enjoy free entry. The racecourse also offers entry to all disabled racegoers and one carer for just £12 each with a free transfer to the Paddock Enclosure.
