Lingfield’s most prestigious two day meeting takes place on Friday 10 May and Saturday 11 May featuring the Betfred Derby Trial Stakes and the Betfred, ‘The Bonus King’ Oaks Trial, alongside the group 3 Betfred.com Chartwell Fillies Stakes.

Watering has taken place at the Surrey venue and Neil Mackenzie Ross, Clerk of the course is happy with forecast for the week ahead. He commented: “We are currently good to firm, good in places with bits of rain forecast, so if the weather predictions are correct we’ll be good ground for Friday and Saturday.”

The two trials races have attracted some eye-catching entries including Irish raiders in the Aiden O’Brien duo, Half Moon entered for the fillies’ trial and Nevis in the line-up for the Derby Trial en route to the Epsom classic.

Another Cocktail from Hughie Morrison’s in form stable has already proved he can handle the undulations at Epsom – he won his maiden at Lingfield and has been second since in the Derby Trial Conditions Race at Epsom to Mirsaale when ridden on both occasions by Richard Hughes.

Luca Cumani intends to send Greatwood a Kempton winner but better known for his impressive second in the Tattersalls Millions at Newmarket to Windhoek when partnered by Kieren Fallon. Also, at the entry stage, the Ed Dunlop trained Contributor, Mark Johnston’s Mister Impatience and Mick Channon’s Elidor should be noted.

Ralph Beckett intends to run Secret Gesture in the fillies race, she will be making her three-year-old debut having won a nice Maiden at the back end of last season at Newbury and second in her first run at Leicester.

Marco Botti will send Whippy Cream to Lingfield for the Betfred ‘The Bonus King’ Oaks Trial.
Tom Dascombe is hoping to run Northern Star in the fillies contest, and Champion Jockey Ryan Moore is already jocked up on Heroine Required for William Haggas. Mark Johnston is represented by Alta Lilea and Ian Mongan is due to ride Miss You Too for trainer David Simcock.

Lingfield Park Resort, which benefits from the very popular 4* Marriott Hotel and Country Club on site and the stunning golf course, is going to be alive with entertainment over the two days. The Delorean ‘Back to the Future’ Car will be on parade along with BMW and Caterham Car Showcase, hovercraft rides and a donut driving experience. All this with the screening of the Championship play offs, a Real Ale Tent and a Battlefield Live Shooting Range makes for the perfect weekend!
