For all you Carrie Bradshaws out there … Introducing the UK’s latest mobile service, Text4Cocktails.

Text4Cocktails is a brand new service that allows you to receive cocktail recipes on the move. Whether you’re buying ingredients, making cocktails for friends or customers, or out socialising, receive recipes instantly on your mobile phone.

There’s no subscription, and the service is FREE (you pay standard text charge only), so soon you’ll be able to tell your Tom Collins from your Tom Cruise.

Designed for the 18-40 year old professional female though not exclusive to them, text4cocktails fills a niche currently unoccupied by offering cocktail recipes to be received instantly on their mobile phones.

The brainchild of Aberdeen entrepreneur, Ryan Coutts and partnered by local design company Damage Inc. Design, the concept has taken bars, clubs and off-licences in the North-East by storm.

Ryan (25) explained: “I was working as a bar manager and noticed a gap in the market. People would ask for cocktails and staff sometimes didn’t know how to make them. Cocktail recipe books aren’t always on hand, but eight out of 10 people these days have a mobile.”

To use the service all you have to do is text COCKTAIL and the name of your cocktail of choice e.g. SEX ON THE BEACH to 67777 to get an instant response:

‘Pour 25ml vodka, 12.5ml peach schnapps, 75ml cranberry juice, 75ml orange juice, stir in a tall glass, Enjoy’

No waiting, hunting around for recipe books or switching on computers.

Ryan added, “We’ve also seen the service prove useful for when you’re out and about and need to find cocktail recipes or recommendations as we’ve recently introduced two other options:

Simply text COCKTAIL and NEW to receive our latest recipe, or text COCKTAIL and the spirit of your choice e.g. VODKA to receive our latest vodka cocktail recipe. Both of which I update fortnightly. As a matter of fact I’m always on the lookout for new recipes to add to the database so would welcome any contributions.

We also strongly support the DrinkAware campaign and believe our service offers selective and educated drinking.”
