Cheltenham Festival Prize Money Boost

Cheltenham Festival Prize Money: The Cheltenham Festival in March has received a significant prize money boost, leading to a new record total of £4,305,000 over the four days of the best of Jump racing. The £190,000 input to prize money benefits 23 of the 28 races at The Festival, with the biggest increases going to the four novice chases. The G1 Racing Post Arkle Novices’ Chase and the G1 RSA Novices’ Chase both are boosted by £25,000, with the total prize money of each rising to £175,000. Following this year’s record nominations, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has announced the finalists for the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards 2017. Harry Cobden surges to head of Stobart Conditional Championship table

South west-based jockey Harry Cobden has surged to the head of the Stobart Conditional Championship table with 38 winners, 12 clear of his nearest pursuer David Noonan in second, with Jamie Bargary in the third on 25. Scudamore Eyes The Showcase at Cheltenham for Next Sensation

Next Sensation could return to Cheltenham for the £50,000 Randox Health Handicap Chase over two miles on day two of The Showcase, Saturday 21st October. The nine-year-old gained the biggest victory of his career at Cheltenham when capturing the 2015 Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Handicap Chase over an extended two miles at The Festival.
